Kym Haywood II is originally from Atlanta, Georgia, and graduated from Tri-Cities High School in 2013. Afterward, he attended Georgia Southern University where he marched on the drumline for two years. He graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science in May 2019.

 

While Kym was pursuing his BS, he had the opportunity to work and teach a good bit, including his alma mater, Tri-Cities High School, as well as Liberty County High, Windsor Forest High, Sonoraville High, and Screven County High. Kym marched snare at Q2 for two years, (2016-2017) and (2017-2018), and loved every bit of it. He really enjoyed the Atlanta Quest family and still believes that they are one of the best places to learn and grow as a musician. He is now a Q2 Snare Staff member, where he has been teaching there since the season of 2020. Kym now plays with the Atlanta Hawks drumline. Alongside performing for NBA games and events, He has had the opportunities to perform with award winning such as Anderson.Paak and Rick Ross. Kym is only at the beginning of his career as a percussionist, and plans to do great things in the drum community.
